On Wednesday, February 25, 2015, 80 pounds of marijuana was seized in a drug bust on Interstate 20. According to WJTV News Channel 12, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office conducted the task force drug bust. At approximately 8:45 p.m., a deputy stopped a Chrysler passenger vehicle on I-20, near mile marker 60. The deputy conducted a search of the vehicle and reportedly found about 80 pounds of marijuana.
Driver and Passenger Arrested in Rankin County Drug Bust
Christian Diaz-Galvan, the driver of the vehicle, and Angel Candelario Zamorano, the passenger, were arrested on the spot and taken to Rankin County Jail. They were charged with trafficking of Marijuana. The wholesale value of the marijuana is estimated to be $80,000 to $100,000. At this time, there’s no word on their initial court appearances. Additionally, at the time of the report, no bond had been set.
